Welcome!

I am Oleksandr Karasov (though you are welcome to call me Sasha), a geographer currently working as a postdoc at the GIST Lab (Aalto University, Finland). In 2022-24, I served as an IPBES Transformative Change Fellow. I used to work at the Digital Geography Lab (University of Helsinki, Finland), and at the Landscape Geoinformatics Lab (University of Tartu, Estonia).

My research interests include map-based assessment of cultural ecosystem services and aesthetic landscape values. At GIST Lab, I run the Ukrainability project.
